History

The Department of History has been existing in the college since it was established in 1964. There is only one sanctioned UGC post in this department. Currently the department is served by one whole-time and one part-time teaching faculty. From its inception, the subject has been taught at the B.A (General) level. History is a dynamic subject and students not only concentrate on learning the subject but participate in seminars and cultural programmes organized by the college. Educational tours are also organized from time to time where the students visit museums and other heritage sites accompanied by the teachers to enrich their knowledge base.
