Economics

The Department of Economics came into existence in 1961 with the inception of the college. It offers General Course in Economics for the B.A./B.Sc students and the papres relating to Economics taught under B.Com Honours and General Courses. The department has three UGC Whole-time posts. Currently the department is run by two Whole-time teachers.

The department, over the years, has given prime importance to long-term objectives apart from the role of preparing the students for the university examinations. The department tries to instill into the students a sense of genuine interest for studies in Economics that would enable them with a strong knowledge foundation for their future higher studies.
